Hi my name is Rick Littleton and I live in Floyd co. I have been married to my wife for 9 years, I guess it took me 3 times to find the right one lol. I am 46 years old and have lived in Floyd co. for the last 23 of them. I am the president of the outdoorsman youth club here in Floyd co. and I teach hunter safety classes for the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife. Me and some of my friends started the outdoorsman youth club back in 2006 to help teach some of the youth in Floyd co. about the great outdoors, we have had as few as 6 kids and as many as 90 at our meetings, the club has slowed down a little but with hunting and trapping season coming up soon I am sure it will pick back up soon. Last year we had 12 kids that wanted to try trapping and with help from other trappers we were able to come up with enough traps for them to get started out. This year we are hoping that some more of the kids will want to try their hands at trapping.
Hello. My name is John Painter. Most of my family are trappers from way back. I just moved to Kentucky from Arizona in May. I am 49, a plumber by trade, an Army vet and have been married for 24 years. I have one son and three daughters, all grown. My wife and I just plain got tired of the political situation in Arizona (not to mention the cage trapping only on public land laws) and decided to head east. Her kin is from Kentucky/Ohio and I fell in love with the state back in the 80's. I probably won't get any steel set this year but you can bet I'll have it all figured out by next season. Looking forward to living in and trapping the most beautiful state in the country!
My name is Greg Fields. I live in Kenton County, Kentucky. I'm 60 years old. I trap off and on with Oral Jones who is my neighbor. He got me started trapping many years ago but because of work I don't get to do as much as I would like. I've been married for 39 years to my wife Vicki. For the past few years I have been collecting door prizes for the fall meets. The first one was at the Kenton County fairgrounds. I learned a lot!
Hello my name is Tim Robinson I live in Cold Spring and grew up in the Burlington/Petersberg Area married to my wife Bev for 20 yrs (don't know how or why she puts up with me most times). We raised 6 children 3 of each. Been huntin and fishin since I was big enough to hold a gun and rod. Just got back into trappin this year. Last time I trapped was in the early 80's, mostly coon hunted. I wasn't much of a trapper then and I hope with age and outdoor experience things will change. For more info check out my profile. Thanks, Good Luck, Hunt Hard & Hunt Safe, Tim.
My name is Ed Paine. I am a 56 y/o retired engineer that grew up in New England but spent my adult life in S.C. and Ky. As a kid I was always interested in trapping and hunting, but no one in my family hunted and I didn't know anyone still trapped until I moved to Ky 14 years ago. I love 18th century reenacting, shooting and hunting with flintlocks, and (now) trapping. My wife of 35 years is very supportive even though she is not interested in hunting or trapping herself. She also does 18th century reenacting and has her own flintlock that she shoots quite well. We have two sons, one who is married and the father of our granddaughter.
Thanks to all the board members for the great help you provide to greenhorns like myself. I look forward to meeting some of you in the future.
