Must show my ignorance and inexperience once again__ if deploying one of Leon's floating otter traps should it be with tube out of water or turned over and completely submerged and if so, how does bait stay in tube? What kind of bait? Also should whole rig be anchored solid or left to float freely? Hope to get some made before next season.
Tube will barely be in water when deployed. That makes it legal if a 280 is used. The need to see that floating hole when they pop their heads up out of the water to look around. Drill a small hole in the center of top of tube and wire a fish pulled up to the top inside so they can see it. In a pond I’d wade out a bit and anchor it. In moving water it’s a must.
