I went to my favorite place to get away from it all Saturday, Rock Creek in McCreary County, to fly fish. Usually don’t have cell phone signal and there’s a good bear population over there to make it interesting. KDFWR had stocked trout a few days earlier and it looked like Grant’s army had gone through and stopped all along the creek and had lunch of whole kernel corn at every spot. I’ve never, in over thirty years of going over there, seen so many people. Fishing license sales have to be up during this. The campground was closed and I about got a ticket parking near it and fishing downstream. Lots of people camped in non designated spots. Guess I’m going to have to pick a bad weather day from now on or go in the winter. Lots of non camping looking people gathered at some spots. I remember years ago it was so peaceful until they started writing about it in magazines and the internet. I can’t blame everyone else for wanting to enjoy it as I do. This is just one of the very little changes that have developed during this I guess.
